The Day
A warm fall day in Austin with lovely cloud cover made this intimate outdoor wedding at the LBJ Presidential Library in Austin, Texas so beautiful! Maggie and Isabel chose to say their vows outside of the library, which is adjacent to the University of Texas at Austin’s grounds, before having a larger reception with friends and extended family at Olive and June. The neutral stone background made a striking pop for the brides’ dresses and the officiant. The evening began with Isabel and her family waiting at the end of the aisle, while Maggie and her family arrived and processed by the LBJ School to meet Isabel! The couple had a dear friend officiate them while their joint families watched on.

Bridal Portraits
After they exchanged vows, the brides took family pictures and celebrated with a champagne toast before cutting the cake. One of the brides had a connection to the LBJ Library which allowed the two of them to go inside and take pictures with the striking architecture. I’m so pleased with how the staircase pictures turned out! The brides and their families were so joyful and just having fun with the portraits–truly it was an honor to photograph such a special couple.

After their couple pictures, we returned to their families outside the LBJ Library before heading to Olive and June restaurant where friends and extended family were waiting to dance to a lot of Chappell Roan. The toasts from the brides’ parents were some of the most touching I have ever heard, which is unsurprising given Isabel is a writer, so it must run in the family. The night culminated in one last private dance for the couple before they made their way through the crowd of well-wishers to head off to the afterparty.

Why choose Rachel for your wedding?
Maggie and Isabel created the most perfect day for their wedding. They wanted a private ceremony before a large party and it went off without a hitch! Well okay, there was rain to end the night but it honestly added to their send off. Every aspect of their day was curated to their wants, and I love that I got to play a role in making that happen for them. Putting guests at ease, anticipating needs, and hyping you up on the dance floor are all things you can expect with me as your photographer.
I first met the brides when I shot their proposal and engagement, and was overjoyed to be their wedding photographer. They have become more than clients and such dear friends to me (even visiting me in my new home of Charlottesville, VA)!

Read what Maggie and Isabel had to say:
“Hiring Rachel for our engagement was one of the best parts of our wedding season. She was easy to work with, kind, and made the day feel special. In fact, she was so great we hired her for our wedding too! As our friends and family have said ‘those are show the grandkids pics.’ She gave us timeless, treasured shots of this season in our life and we can’t wait to call on Rachel for all the big moments in our life.”
