Texas Spring Church Wedding

Bright blue tones, warm Texas sun, and cultural fusion in a faith-filled union

The Day

Veronika and Braden’s beautifully traditional and elegant Catholic church wedding was full of light and joy! The Mass was held at the Church of the Visitation in Westphalia, Texas. The couple wanted their shared faith to be the most important aspect of the wedding day, and that was apparent in every detail. The bride’s brothers sang the hymns from the choir loft as her sister-in-law played the organ. The priest was a good friend and family delivered the readings. The church itself was stunning–high ceilings, painted blue, with the space above the altar decorated with tiny gold stars.

Toasts

After their family and couple pictures inside the Church of the Visitation, the couple joined the rests of the guests outside the Church for toasts and cake. The bride’s family was Czech and Ukrainian and the groom’s Native American and Guyanese. In addition to champagne and sparkling cider for guests to sip on during the toasts, there were sausage and cheese kolache and Guyanese black cake. The fathers of the bride and groom made toasts, and then the Ukrainian family members sang a traditional congratulatory song. It was so lovely to see the two distinct cultures come together and celebrate the joining of a new family.

Choosing a Wedding Photographer

This is a day you will relive over and over, both through your memories, but also the images captured. Choosing a photographer who will capture the day the way you want is vital! As your wedding photographer, I will work with you to go over details and preferences to make sure every aspect of the documentation is done in a way authentic to you.

Read what Veronika and Braden had to say:

“Rachel was fantastic at communicating what she offers in advance so we both knew what to expect and could actually envision what we wanted. She also was spectacular at keeping us on schedule the day of, while simultaneously keeping us relaxed. She captured so many beautiful candid moments and was responsive to change when corraling two large extended families.
